Aadi Amavasai; Thousands flock at historic Mamangeswaram


Thousands of Hindu devotees from several parts of the Eastern Province flocked at the historic Mamageswaram Temple in Amithakali in Batticlaoa on Tuesday. The deity of the temple was taken to the venue of Theertham after poojas at the Vasantha Mandapam. Devotees chanted Arohara as they engaged in the Theertham.

‘Mana Bangaru Sai’ musical programme in Prashanthy Nilayam


An impressive musical programme was presented in Prashanthy Nilayam under the title ‘ Mana Bangaru Sai’ recently. 113 Sai Youth and 59 adults from Mauritius were members of the team of singers. They are in Prasanthi Nilayam for the Sathya Sai World Youth Festival. This unique presentation of gratitude to our beloved Lord included poems, speakers and an array of songs enjoyed by Swami.

Pannissai at Thirumuarai Conference

A highlight of the Thirumurai Conference held in Colombo recently was Pannissai. It won the applause of the audience. Pannisai was by Dr. Sivagowry Kreeshkumar, Flute Dr. M.Kreeshkumar, Violin by Dr. Shyamalangy Karunakaran of Vipulananda Aesthetic College and Miruthangam by Bramma Sri Swaminatha Sarma.

The traditional nadana arankettram of two sisters Bawatharanya and Pavithra won the appreciation and applause of both dance lovers and the members of the public at Colombo New Kathiresan Hall recently. The background musicians were Chreriography Vasuhy Jegatheeswaran, vocal by Arooran, Miruthangam by Sri Karthikeyan, Violin by S.Thibaharan, Pullankulal by Sri Priyantha and Thala Arangam by Ratnathurai.
