Arumuga Navalar festival was held in Colombo recently under the joint auspices of the Arumuga Navalar Sabhai, Hindu Development Society, Department of Hindu Religious Affairs and All Ceylon Hindu Congress. The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of Nanthi Flag.

Special poojas were conducted by Siva Sri K.V.K.Vytheeswara Kurukkal. Dr. Kesavan delivered the keynote address on Arumuga Navalar and his mission. Arumuga Navalar Sabhai President Vidai Kodi Chelvar S. Dhanabalaa also addressed the event. Students who won prizes at the Arumuga Navalar essay and oratorical contests were awarded certificates.
