SLPP is opposed to reintroduction of 13A that leads to power devolution … Gammanpila

Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila

SLPP parliamentary election candidate Udaya Gammanpila has observed that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) would not bring back the 13th amendment to the constitutional that led to power devolution among provinces.

He was speaking to the media on Tuesday.

He said:

“If the 13th amendment is implemented fully, our country will be divided into nine portions. The amendment will vest police powers with provincial councils. I warn that it can lead to a war between the police unit in the North and the Army.”
