My statement does not refer to any matter under adjudication in a Court of Law ……. Ponnambalam

Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam

All Ceylon Tamil Congress MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam has stated that his question ought to be allowed as it did not refer to any matter under adjudication before a Court of Law.

Speaking in the House, Ponnambalam said:

“My question should be allowed. According to the Standing Order 36(f), a question shall not refer to any matter under adjudication under Court of Law or on which a judicial decision is pending. It should be read along with Sanding Order 91, which also says that the Speaker could allow if there is no impact on the outcome of the matter before the Court. The matter before the Court of Law is decided. So, I request that my statement be allowed.”
