Treat all verbal orders as circulars, else face stern action … President tells officials

President Gotabaya Rajapakse has told all officials to consider verbals orders issued for the common good of the people as official circulars. He cautioned that whoever neglect would face stern disciplinary action.

He made this observation at the “Discussion with Villagers” forum held at Velanwita village in Haldummulla, Badulla on Friday, September 25.

During the address, President Gotabaya said:

“I expect public officials to consciously comprehend the problems of the people and provide solutions. I will always stand by the officials who make the right and unwavering decisions on behalf of the people. State institutions take a long time to address people’s issues. If a written inquiry from one institution does not receive a reply from the other institution within 14 days, consider it as approved.”

Maha Sanga , Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva, State Minister Thenuka Vidangamage, Members of the Parliament, Sudarshana Denipitiya, Thissa Kuttiarachchi, Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Governor A.J.M Muzammil, Principal Advisor to the President, Lalith Weeratunga, other political representatives of the region and officials of several institutes were present at the discussion.
