Tamil National Alliance welcomes Modi’s stance on reconciliation, Tamils’ issue

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has welcomed the stance taken by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Sri Lankan Tamil issue and reconciliation in the island.

TNA referred to Modi’s statement during his interaction with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse that the implementation of the 13th Amendment to the Sri Lankan Constitution was essential for carrying forward the process of peace and reconciliation.

TNA statement reads:'

“We welcome PM Modi calling on Sri Lanka to address the aspirations of the Tamil people for equality, justice, peace and respect within a united SL including by carrying forward the process of reconciliation with implementation of constitutional provisions.”
