Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa declared open the Tomlin Park and the Municipal Car Park in Kandy on Sunday, January 16. They were built for the convenience of pilgrims visiting the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy.
The Tomlin Park with the state-of-the-art resting places have been built by the Strategic Cities Development Program and the ‘Siyak Nagara’ Development Project of the Government under the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing.
Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Central Province Governor Lalith U Gamage, State Ministers Dilum Amunugama and Lohan Ratwatte, MPs Wasantha Yapabandara, Goonetileke Rajapaksa, and Udayana Kirindigoda, Kandy Mayor Kesara Senanayake, and other senior officials were present at the occasion.
