Parliamentarian Daina Gamage has made a proposal in the House that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s term should be extended by two more years since he had ‘lost’ two years due to COVID-19.
She made the proposal while addressing the Parliament during the adjournment debate on the President’s policy statement. Diana Gamage said:
“A motion should be passed in Parliament with a two-thirds majority for this. The term of the Parliament too should be extended by two years.
If not for the pandemic the construction of the proposed expressway net work could have been completed. The queues for food and fuel are not limited to Sri Lanka and shop shelves are empty even in the US during the pandemic.”
