Army Commander calls on Buddhist prelates


Newly appointed Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake called on Buddhist Prelates, at Malwatte and Asgiriya temples and received their blessings. Commander offered ‘Atapirikara’ and fruits basket as symbols of venerations to those prelates.

Earlier, he visited ‘Sri Daladha Maligawa’ (Temple of tooth) in Kandy and paid homage. This was his first visit to Kandy after taking office as the 22nd Commander of the Army.
