Chinese Hospital Ship ‘Ark Peace’ arrives in Colombo Port


‘Ark Peace’, Hospital Ship of the People's Liberation Army Navy of China ‘Hepingfangzhou’ arrived at the port of Colombo on 06, August on a goodwill visit.

It was accorded welcome in accordance with naval customs by Sri Lanka Navy. Deputy Area Commander Western Naval Area, Commodore Sanath Uthpala and senior officers were also present on this occasion. Yi Xianliang, Ambassador of China in Sri Lanka, Commodore Uthpala, Deputy Area Commander West of Sri Lanka navy, Senior Colonel Xu jianwei, Defense Attaché of Embassy of China in Sri Lanka attended the event. Besides, a host of Chinese nationals in Sri Lanka made their presence at the harbour premises in welcoming the ship.

During the four day official visit in Sri Lanka, Deputy Chief of Staff of East Sea Fleet, PLA Navy, Rear Admiral Guan Bailin, Commanding Officer of the ship Captain Guo Baofeng and senior officers of Ark Peace are expected to meet with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne.
