Jaffna University administration has taken a decision to suspend seven senior undergraduates from attending lectures allegedly for subjecting a group of new students to ragging on several occasions on 08-10-2020 resulting in six new students being injured.
Four of the senior students have been suspended for six months and the remaining three for one year, during which time the university premises have been made a prohibited zone. Measures have also been taken to suspend all facilities, including scholarships for the students.
The decision was taken following a report of the investigation conducted by the Jaffna University Student and Disciplinary Committee headed by Prof. Nandakumaran.
