A new Supreme Court Bench has been constituted to hear the application by DMK senior leader Anbalagan pleading for the removal of Bawany Singh appearing as a special prosecutor in Jayalalitha’s case.
The bail granted to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has been extended by Supreme Court. The Supreme Court in its Order stated that the bail has been extended till the Karnataka High Court disposes the case of appeal filed by Jayalalitha and four others against their conviction in a case of disproportionate assets.
Karnataka High Court Justice C.R.Kumaraswamy hearing the appeal by Jayalalitha against her conviction in a disproportionate assets case, has permitted BJP Leaser Subramaniya Swamy to implead in the hearing since he had been the original complainant and assist SPP Bawany Singh but he was not allowed to present oral arguments.
A statue for the late V.O. Sithamparampillai, hailed in Tamil Nadu as Kapalotiya Thamilan, was unveiled at a simple ceremony in V. O. Sitmaparam College in Tuticorin on Monday.
