An Islamabad Court has found former military ruler Gen. Pervez Musharraf guilty of high treason and pronounced death sentenced to him. The verdict was split 2-1.
The three-member bench of the Islamabad Court comprised Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth, Justice Nazar Akbar of the Sindh High Court (SHC) and Justice Shahid Karim of the LHC.
Gen Musharraf seized power in a military coup in 1999 and served as the country's president from 2001 to 2008.He is currently in Dubai after being allowed to leave the country for medical treatment in 2016.
