An Indian lawyer has filed a defamation law suit against Congress president Rahul Gandhi in a Magistrate's Court in Bihar alleging that Gandhi's recent statements abroad had tarnished the country's image.
The plaintiff Sudhir Kumar Ojha, a lawyer, in his petition pleaded that Rahul Gandhi had justified terrorism by suggesting that increasing unemployment in India was behind the growth in terrorism. He also pleaded that Gandhi during his visit to Germany and the UK, made statements holding Indian culture responsible for violence against women and thereby "tarnished and lowered the image of India" internationally.
